Mathilde is the new solo harp of the Residentie Orkest in The Hague

On November 23-24, the audition for the solo harp position took place in The Hague. In three rounds, the orchestra chose Mathilde. She will start the new position starting from season 2022-2023.

The Residentie Orkest, founded in The Hague in 1904, is an innovative orchestra with a fresh sound, strongly rooted in the city. The orchestra seeks the relevance of (sometimes centuries-old) music in a contemporary way. This includes educational projects and surprising collaborations with diverse ensembles and residents of the city today.

Season 22-23 announces promising artists and great repertoire, including Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major, Also Sprach Zarathustra, Mahler 9 and many others.

As leader, Mathilde will take care of the solo parts and lead other harpists when invited to join a large ensemble. The section leaders are also a point of contact for the conductor, keep in close contact with other leaders and play an active role in recruiting new colleagues.

Finally, Mathilde is also responsible for the condition and maintenance of the instruments.
